Drug Bust at RIDE Names Released

(PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY, ON) An early morning RIDE program by members of the Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) resulted in two individuals being arrested and charged.
Officers were conducting a RIDE program on Highway 62 at County Road 3 at 1:00 a.m. on March 13, 2025. During the RIDE, officers observed a vehicle attempt to avoid the RIDE program. As a result, two individuals were arrested, and officers seized a quantity of suspected cocaine, other items typically associated with drug use and trafficking, and approximately $1600 in cash.
Anthony MARINI, age 20 from Trenton was charged with:
Possession of a schedule one substance
Possession of a schedule one substance for the purpose of trafficking
Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available
Niah BABCOCK, age 23 from Quinte West was charged with:
Possession of a schedule one substance
Possession of a schedule one substance for the purpose of trafficking
Both accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on April 2, 2025.
