(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) The Norfolk County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual in relation to a sudden death investigation in Simcoe.
On Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at approximately 2:55 p.m., officers were dispatched for a well-being check at a residence on Norfolk Street. Upon arrival, officers found a deceased individual.
As a result of the investigation, one person has been arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
· Second degree murder, section 235(1)
· Fail to comply with probation order, section 733.1(1) two counts
The accused appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe today and remains in custody.
The names of the victim and accused are being withheld under provisions of a court-ordered publication ban.
Investigators believe this is an isolated incident and do not believe there is a threat to public safety.
The Norfolk County OPP Crime Unit, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, continues this ongoing investigation.
